Poetic
sitting
in the corner
of a pub
I write vows
and eulogies
I speak
of the dead
visiting
the departed
speaking of love
waxing of life
on the breath
of a baby
I take minutes
of hours
I wrap my hands
in cheesecloth
stained with black
my fingernails
have loosened
from their beds
life passes through
my pen, surging
and ebbing
with each tragedy
or celebration
I read lips
hear tones
watching from afar
the faces
but unable
to touch
the life in them

Chat on the Darkside...
is a chat run by your's truly, on the second and the last Sat. of each month at 9pm until 10pm. Eastern Standard Time.
Bring your dark poetry and dark thoughts. Sometimes we have a set agenda, sometimes it's just an open chat.
Depending on who and how many show up. The next chat is on the 13th of April. Like to see you there. ~ Geezer

This is different from the norm, to be able to do all those things and thanking Gee for his help I can only think of a lost Spirit lol.
I see I will have to send out the children to bring you home again lol.
Loved the pictures that passed within touching distance as you sat there in the pub..
I think I like it much better when you gaze across the wasteland to the factories and think of love, I know a contradiction but then it is better to look inward lol.
Take care young lady and try not to do too much, better to walk a full mile, than run a half, Yours Ian.T

YOUR poem inspires
a birth of a poem
she is like a candle cold and still
held in a lonely hand so still ...
till she is lit and flame is flickering
going out now more later bye
