Qs
I‘ve captured a memory, of which I’m so proud
reflecting an icon of purest delight
to never be sullied with paint, I have vowed
and just what and how, I shall, to you, recite
while snoozing one morning, I heard the TV
Sesame Street was on for the day
I heard my young son, a year less than three
joining the singing and word interplay
I thought he’d be safe if I stayed where I was
I left him there to it, after all’s said and done
I thought I might nap just a bit more, because
he seemed to be having such wonderful fun
in hindsight, it’s true now, I have to confess
I know that I should have arose for the play
for when I did dress, it was not hard to guess
the letter that ruled this one Sesame’s day
the wall of my kitchen is covered in Qs
all perfect round Os in a skilful straight line
with cute little tails - a texta was used
they’ve been there a very long time
.

Hi Judyanne
how wonderfully you have crafted your reminisce in these quatrains with such consummate ease...now I need to google what the myth of "sesame's day" is all about to be able fully connect your reminisce to it...

Sesame Street
Did you look it up?
It is/was a very long-running American children's' show. I'm not sure if it is still being made, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was... it was/is very popular, taught kids a lot - morals as well as alphabet, words, numbers, etc.
The show was on TV every morning, and each episode featured a letter and word for the day.... thus 'the letter that ruled this one Sesame day'
thanks for the read and great comment Raj

Hi Judy
I remember that tv show well. A good write which takes the reader to the good old times. They just don't make tv shows ike they used to.
