The Raven

My dearest Raven
fairest flight of them all
will you make shelter
in the face of the squall
or shall you break wing
like browning leaves in fall?

My dearest Raven
shall I cast thee a spell
to stave you from flying
through the fires of such hell
or shall you burn black
like oil fired from the well?

My dearest Raven
feared pilot in the air
shall you feed your young
with the odds tilted from fair
or shall you become prey
like site faking a stare?

My dearest Raven
Oh fairest Raven
lay me safely in your nest
glide that wind to a breeze
fell worship to its knees
bring forth an end to the quest
pull me softly to your chest

Love stories of nature and it's creatures, the raven is well written of for many reasons, there is a dark side and a light side I will have a look and see how they are seen, I know that the ravens in the Tower of London are special and there is a story there.
This is a good write and as I said I loved it, I looked up the Raven,
from Poe's poetry to the Roman times and beyond, where the Druids would use the Bird for all kinds of reasons, mostly associated with death being a carrion bird, that will do it will be good for you to look up the variety of it's existences over the years,
Yours Ian.T

Ravens are fucking weird

as a metaphor they are very ambiguous as Ian implied.
I think you are the raven, attempting to reconcile the good and the dark.
A poem worth reading.

I recall writing about hanging there on the, "Tyburn Tree", and there the Ravens were ravaging me,
I must write another later when time permits, they are a bird that brings many changes in and have a position in all the ages of man.
We have an old folk tale and it is one that I believe as it has happened time and time again in my life.
We have a bird related to the Raven called the Crow, it senses death, and many times I have seen this bird, resting on the roof of a sick person, and sometimes just on a roof for three days, there is always a death in the house it sits on, don't know how but it senses it.
But that's another story, lol, Yours Ian.T
