Reflections

I love you, your fire, your spirit

I know what lives inside you

A wellspring of love and compassion
Reserved for a deserving few

I gaze into the sacred pool

Where I could live a thousand years

Guarded secrets of your soul

I see my own reflections there

About This Poem

Last Few Words: For a friend of mine who, like myself, internalizes. I am one of the few confidants that gets to see inside. It’s a very special gift.

A friend like this...

is a special person indeed! We all need someone like this in our lives. Reflections is a good title for this one. The piece is short and to the point; without wandering off into the meandering abyss of maudlin, sentimental crap. Nice job! ~ Geez.
