rekindled memories

I remember
a long walk down a boardwalk
the wind blew cold
long blonde hair obscured my view

There was warmth in your smile
a soft urgency in your touch
and you were beautiful

so how was I to know
there was another
and I was left to play
the fool
after giving all of my heart and soul

I think of you still
and remember

Nothing to add...

You did a fine job of making me feel the sorrow of understanding that a person's intentions can be misconstrued. It's happened to me. ~ Geezer.
