I also have such sentiments; but here in the West it would read, self is a shadow that should follow the spirit. Here, the physical is king.
I believe this is what the 'wast land' was about.

There in the vastness of the universe our Spirits will meet.
There we will dance in eternal energy.
Joining yet separate entities, just call my name and I will be there.

It is the way of the Spirit world you remain as a singularity, but in their world you can join another or many others, it is a world of love and energy all the individuals are seeking perfection.
It is a long story young man, here is the only place we can experience physical problems and to be in perfection you have to be aware of all emotions.
I wonder what your beliefs are on that side of being..
Take care young man and know it is great to walk with you.
