Shape of a shadow

Two shadows walk side by side.one shadow is walking upright. Taller than me and really round.
Wow! It is really close, as if he's holding me ,nearby.

Who is this inkiness.
I feel scared that this sight is following me.
It looks kind of rough and tough.
It is right beside me.

I think I like this character.
It acts like it loves me.
It stays so close beside me.
I begin to realize this shadow is a part of me.

Is this shadow me or my Father.
I begin to realize this shadow has protected me through life.
Oh, how I love my Father.
It is sitting by me cause this shadow loves me.

This shadow looks like my Father.

Hi Mary

What a lovely poem! Our loved ones visit us in the most unexpected way sometimes. Your poem demonstrated many emotions from fear to wonder and then comfort in realizing it was your father. Well done.

The Shape of a Shadow

Hello, Mary,
How comforting! I feel the same way about my father, even as I get older, or maybe especially as I get older. Wonderful sentiment!
I wonder - you've listed this in the weekly contest ending 4.12.25, but I'm guessing you may want to enter it into the actual "Shape of a Shadow" contest.
Thank you!
