Six More Weeks of (Nuclear) Winter (Threat)
Oh dear Phil, tell me what do you see? What do you feel?
Do you see your shadow during these strange-unusual days?
Is the threat of nuclear war coming closer to my door?
But haven’t we already been through this kind of craze?
Here I was dreaming of a wonderful time to enjoy in Spring
Now the darkness looming seems like a depressive forecast
Ominous clouds in the distance tell a different story
But haven’t we already been through all this in the past?
I thought that as the world progressed, we’d all grow smarter
But it looks like we’ve gone more ass backwards-in reverse
I was really hoping the approaching season would be great
Yet it seems we’re stuck again in the muck of an old curse
I try to remain positive by looking forward to Spring
As I wait for Punxsutawney Phil to give me good news
But this groundhog’s day feels like we’re back at it again
When the world has gone and put itself into a noose

I had to look up Punxsutawney Phil. If only it were just another 6 weeks. For me, the length of the lines make this less poetic that it might be.

Here in the states it's a tradition when they get the little guy and make their prediction based on his reaction, but with the way everything seems to be going in today's times, I fear we may see mushroom clouds.

i too share your sentiments, and crafted something similar.
with such capacity to learn to love, why in the name of sam hill doth this species Homo sapiens now teeter on the brink of that final tick tock until the doomsday clock strikes midnight.

To think that we have more information at the tip of our fingers that we should have evolved and make better decisions only to see it's gotten worse is baffling to me.
The movie Idiocracy feels more like a documentary nowadays.
