something real to touch

There is a world out there, they say
something real to touch
like a wild chestnut glimmering in
quiet autumn rain.
A rustling leaf, fleeting above
a sleeping summer meadow.
The child’s playful fingers
on the tree
in a happy wait between
the snow covered swing and the sun.

How it hurts to not touch you
with my hands
to remember your wild hair
your storm blue eyes,
your strong hands.
When you stood there, peering
with a spade of light
reaching out for a moist root,
a crack to breathe,
a warm window against the cheek
a stretched canvas to anchor.

When I now paint your path
digging up your light steps
all these days of armour
that have passed since then.
So, turn off the lamp little friend
we will meet when the morning comes
there is a world out there, they say
something real to touch.

Even you are touched

by the Imagery workshops trials and errors
and come up with a vivid one of your own as aye

You are as ma'am Ann says....

AYE ,AYE, and only AYE,
as always
I see you took a cue
and
used abbreviations in this one ,
I read it with care,
others I always flashed by

You are the poet,
I wish I was ..
Perhaps some day
may...

a jewel

baited breath I read
through this poem

realizing that some are
intimate in revelation
the poem cascades
through my senses
smoothly

Thank You!

Breathless me

Breathless me

You are unconquerable
adorable
and
emu- able
and
any label you wish to be,
including amenable
so let it be
and enable me
to lift beyond all horizons,
that may cause obstacles
and
fly above in the heavens,
if you all permit me
as I’m on my own
unable

I love to read it here described & conjured so well

When I now paint your path
digging up your light steps
all these days of armour
that have passed since then.
So, turn off the lamp little friend
we will meet when the morning comes
there is a world out there, they say
something real to touch.

I don't know, your writing almost always provides me mind, psyche, soul whatever... with an abundance of surfaces & textures in which to immerse 'itself"... myself. I could wander through each peice so filled with sensation, it is really a wonderful gift, you are a master of description, indeed a painter in words, I love it.

& this last... I feel I have been in a place a little like that long ago, not great, but I love to read it here described & conjured so well. I seem to hunger to read life described well, do you know what I mean?

You are indeed a sensualist. Well done

Sorry for taking so long.. ThankYou so much for your most kind words about my poem.
Yes, life described well is always difficult but I guess that is what we 'poets' are trying to do..painting words ( beautiful thought )
