Sounds And Spaces

In our lifetime we have heard millions of sounds
Most have been long forgotten or dismissed
But some sounds remain well within our minds

The closing of the confessional doors
And the sliding of the curtain revealing the priest
A sound that never left our adolescent minds

The well prepared words recited by our loving spouse
While standing at the alter before our marriage
Will never leave our minds or hearts

The first cries of our newborn children
Filled our hearts with joy and happiness
Fulfilling our hopes and dreams

The gasps and sounds of a loved one in a hospital bed
Remain throughout our lives filling us with fear and dread
With the constant reminders of future events

The below is a computer-generated response from Neo, Neopoet's computer artificial intelligence:

Consider exploring more specific sensory details or imagery to deepen the emotional resonance of each described sound. The poem currently relies heavily on general statements ("joy and happiness," "fear and dread"), which can limit the reader's emotional engagement. Providing more concrete, vivid descriptions of the sounds themselves or the immediate reactions they evoke could create a stronger connection with the reader. Additionally, the poem's structure and rhythm could benefit from greater consistency; for example, the stanza lengths and line breaks vary without clear purpose. Clarifying or unifying these elements might enhance the poem's overall coherence and impact. Finally, the last line ("With the constant reminders of future events") is somewhat vague and could be clarified or expanded upon to better convey the intended meaning.

Yes...

Cat is right, although there are many sounds that we will always remember, you have made a few of them a story of your own. Well done sir, well done. ~ Geez.
