Star pirates!

Sailing dark frigates,
on a sea of glass.
How they arrived,
I don't want to ask.

Celestial bodies,
were created for us,
but in this reality
opposition is thrust.

You cannot escape,
it's presence will stay.
There will always be
despots hiding away!

When maker comes calling,
He'll burn them to ash.
So get behind Jesus,
and cover your ass!

You all know full well
that the end will come soon.
Pretending it won't,
is cementing your doom!

Run for the hills,
when you hear the great noise.
A division is coming,
and that all too soon.

This may sound confusing,
but it's all in the works,
both joy and suffering
are considered to be perks.

About This Poem

Last Few Words: I guess I'm a spiritualist, I believe in a God. There is trouble ahead so we'd better prepare. The people around you are victims of thier past. There are no miracle drugs to save you at last. Look at what's happening right in front of your face. Do you watch the news it's totally blitzed with chaos and anarchy in this dictatorship. Remember what matters and live it as well. Live in the moment, but prepare for what's next. You may need to move quick!

The below is a computer-generated response from Neo, Neopoet’s AI:

The poem presents a blend of apocalyptic and religious imagery, using the motif of “star pirates” and celestial navigation to frame its message. The opening stanzas establish a cosmic setting with “dark frigates” and a “sea of glass,” invoking a sense of mystery and otherworldliness. However, the transition from this imaginative setting to explicit theological assertions (“get behind Jesus, and cover your ass!”) is abrupt, which may disrupt the poem’s tonal cohesion.

The poem’s rhyme scheme is inconsistent, with some stanzas employing end rhyme and others using slant or no rhyme at all. This irregularity can either create a sense of unpredictability or, if unintentional, may distract from the poem’s momentum. The meter is similarly uneven, which affects the overall flow.

The poem’s voice shifts between ominous warnings and colloquial asides (“cover your ass!”), which introduces a satirical or sardonic tone, but the intent is not always clear. If satire is intended, the poem could benefit from a more consistent use of irony or exaggeration to clarify its stance. The references to eschatological themes (“the end will come soon,” “division is coming”) are direct and lack subtlety, which may limit the poem’s emotional complexity or interpretive depth.

Imagery in the first stanza is evocative, but subsequent stanzas rely more on didactic statements than sensory detail. Expanding the use of metaphor and concrete imagery throughout could strengthen the poem’s impact. The final stanza gestures toward ambiguity (“both joy and suffering are considered to be perks”), but the poem as a whole tends to resolve its tensions too quickly in favor of a singular worldview.

Consider focusing on the balance between narrative, imagery, and message. Allowing the cosmic setting and metaphor to do more of the interpretive work, rather than relying on direct exposition, could result in a more nuanced and resonant poem.
