Surrender
It's not a bad word
or even a sad one.
It expresses
what happens
when you
accept
the now.
When you give in
to the simple flow
of the moment.
The discoveries
you make
are never ending
and overflowing.
The surprising responses
to opening up
to the new
to the adventurous
all good.
So you see
I have learned
to give in
to the moment,
to the now.
I accept it
with good grace
and complete
appreciation.
About This Poem
Last Few Words: Just another take out from the therapy session. I have learned to accept "what is" and not classify anything as either good or bad. Once I learned to do this, the creative part of my mind has simply flourished. In conversation with Bruce , on that day, he raised the notion that I should accept with grace what is being a normal human being, and that I should not beat myself up all the time. Thus, I no longer stress about it, and it makes my daily life much easier. This poem demonstrates what I continue to glean from that session and apply it in my daily existence. So many prompts from that session just emerge in the forefront of my mind in passing thoughts. I never let them go. I use them.

The below is a computer-generated response from Neo, Neopoet's computer artificial intelligence:
The poem "Surrender" effectively conveys a message of acceptance and embracing the present moment. The use of simple language and short lines creates a sense of flow and ease, mirroring the theme of surrender to the now. However, to enhance the impact of the poem, consider incorporating more vivid imagery or specific examples to help readers connect more deeply with the concept of surrender. Additionally, varying the structure or rhythm of the poem could add complexity and keep the reader engaged throughout. Overall, the poem has a strong foundation but could benefit from further development in terms of imagery and structure.
