The Tear Drop

I'm the tear drop
the shape
that holds you in
and keeps you
firm.

I come
in different shapes
and colours,
and in different styles.

The tear drop shape
gives me confidence
when I wear
my clothes.

Not the real tear drop.
I don't need that
at all.
But the shape
above my waist
that makes me feel
like a woman.

The general word
to cover this
is
lingerie.
I like
the personal service
when I get a fitting
with an expert.
That's what I did today.
It was great.
I love
that particular shop.
The fitters are highly competent.

Danielle
was amazing.
I left the shop
with exactly
what I wanted.

About This Poem

Last Few Words: Despite the sticky , hot weather, I decided to take advantage of where I was in the shopping centre zone, and have a bra fitting. I went to one of my favourite shops in Burke Road, Camberwell. Danielle, was a wonderful fitter, and managed to get me what I was looking for. You wouldn't think that it could be a subject for a poem , but I continued to ponder the words "tear drop", and that is when I produced this one.

Teardrop...

is not exactly what I think of when I see lingerie, but I can see the simile. And why not, write a poem about purchasing such a piece of intimate apparel? Nicely done, ~ Geezer.
