TESTAMENT
TESTAMENT
As time steals my days
I see myself decay
Still I have my mind
and pray
the beast will never find
me there
and if it does
i hope not to know
whereof
I came
whereto I go
and yearn to leave
this place
in the bliss
of ignorance
my enemies
my friends again
failures meaningless
where opinion rules
all betrayers fools
for having never seen
another human being
behind the screen
of words

There in your comfy abode you
There in your comfy abode you hide behind your screen
determined not to scream when things go wrong.
"I hope not to know
whereof
I came
whereto I go"
I specially liked this bit, it has a dance of thought in it that is fascinating;
strange how words can twist us about in our directions.
Wonder what imagery that would be!
Is there a philosophical imagery?
Annuccia.

Thanks, Lonnie. One of my favorites in my "new" poetry. It is all in the approach, I guess.
