There Was This Poem...

There was this poem
I tried to write
But it escaped like a fish
While I was fishing
In the river of my mind
Where things just didn't make any sense at all.
I swear...
It slipped off my hands!
Such a slimy fish
Swimming and running away!
I knew I wanted it
A magnificent catch to behold
Too elusive to touch!
I knew I'd better be dead
If I didn't get hold
Of that little thing faster than I was.
I thought to myself
If I caught that damn fishy,
I would be hailed
By those to whom I'd show it!
One problem, though...
I wasn't born a swimmer
But to hell with it!
I threw myself into the gushing river
Trying to flow along with the current
But that little fish
Not even good enough to eat
Swam faster than I thought!
I tried to catch it time and time again
Only to fail countless time!
In the end
I wore myself out
With head throbbing in pain
I lay in the bed to sleep
Thinking maybe
I would go fishing again in my dreams...

You spin a yarn well Gardenia

You spin a yarn well Gardenia,
difficult to follow the current as, was it Chuang Tsu,
who did, but if it was a dream, then you must have had
a whale of a time :)

I had a whale of a time reading it. Love Ann.

Hi Ann ^_^

It seems to me that you're a lover of Oriental poetry. I find them simple and indeed, there's a real beauty in simplicity. Thank you

About the poem I wanted write, I'm still "chasing after the fish"

Indeed I am a lover of

Indeed I am a lover of Oriental poetry,
the essence of nature with the touch of the brush
or the fall of the words in our consciousness,
just like the sound of snowflakes and the roar of the waterfall.

Ann.
