yes
was thinking of the moon the month past
how when I was walking
I looked up and let out a gasp
but came out like a moan
"ooohhhh"
the beauty of it atop the forest
in the city the city trees
and remembered the Pacific long
ago and thought of the far kelp beds
and how they would be imagined under
water I used to swim in a clear lake
with the moon Homes because
Kelp is not just the home of one
in singular but of many
and of course there is but one
moon but with many phases

Are you a shell languishing
Are you a shell languishing
watching, sounding, listening,
polished with the light of the moon.
Ann of N with love.
