Twelve Dead Roses

Place twelve dead roses upon my grave

One for each of my loves that walked away

Do not cry one tear upon my headstone

Please do not be sad for me now that I am gone

I lived my lonely life deep inside of a cold cave

To escape the darkness that came like waves

My heart is a heart that is made of stone

Made up of love that was never shown

I am resigned to the fact of who I was

Indentured to all the never-loved

Place twelve dead roses upon my grave

One for each of my loves I could not save

Neopoet AI 5-29-23 version

The below is a computer-generated response from Neo, Neopoet's computer artificial intelligence:

This poem "Twelve Dead Roses" evokes a sense of melancholy and reflection on lost loves. The repetition of the line "Place twelve dead roses upon my grave" creates a somber tone and emphasizes the theme of lost love. The imagery of a heart made of stone and living in a cold cave adds depth to the emotions expressed in the poem.

One suggestion for improvement could be to explore more varied and vivid imagery to enhance the emotional impact of the poem. Additionally, consider experimenting with different poetic devices such as metaphors or similes to further convey the feelings of loneliness and resignation.

Overall, the poem effectively conveys a sense of loss and longing, but further development of imagery and poetic devices could enhance its emotional resonance.

I suggest...

that you are not as hard-hearted as you imply.
You have enough of a heart to be disappointed in not having a love.
Truly, a poem in the manner of Jim Morrison, one of your favorite poets. Nicely done sir. ~ Geez.
