Un-happy

I find myself skirting tangent lines
Stasis has tethered my creative spark
Words have less meaning, evoke less emotion
The heart being a weathered ark

Within cascades of pain, my muse
I borrow words for torrid use
Behind despair’s dark waterfall
Her words and I become recluse

In the hiding and the pain
I find that I can write again
Ever flowing through my being
Ever hearing, ever seeing

Happiness won’t serve me so
Lends not the words as does my woe
It gives my soul a different glow
A feeling that’s been hard to know

Remaining faithful in the light
Patient, peaceful, and I might
Connect to something wholly new
A bright and shining retinue

I know...

Not everyone's muse is the same.
How utterly boring it would be, if it were so.
I do believe that you will undoubtably find, that you
will have more than just pain and somber thoughts
to engage, because you will see that there are other places to visit.
I'm sure that your curiosity will not rest until you explore some of them.
I look forward to those stories; to the meeting and embracing of said emotional plains.
This piece is simple, yet informative about your process.
The rhyme is great and the rhythm and pace keep ranks.
I like the hope at the end, that you will be led to other doors and admitted.
Good stuff! ~ Geez.

Un-happy

Hello, Tim,
It's always so good to read your work. It appears your muse is very much in tune with herself. I love the poetry that comes from accepting an honest feeling and place in one's life.

"It gives my soul a different glow
A feeling that's been hard to know..."

Even if it's hard to know, you've expressed it so well.
Thank you!
Lx

Good to see you

Writing even if your muse is a bit somber these days. Always a pleasure to read your works.
