What A Mortal Being Am I

Oh, what a mortal being am I

I am just waiting around to die

It seems to get closer every day

Each day a part of me falls away

I do not face death at all eager

However, I do not fear death either

Just passing on by a natural state

Whether it comes early or late

Tripping through life, you will fall

All the time listening for deaths call

I will soon be covered by earth's dirt

Asleep to all of my sorrow and hurt

I like this. So dark, and I

I like this. So dark, and I'm drawn to dark things. It's so real and reality is dark. Words unspoken by most people who tend to ignore this stuff. Cannot relate to not fearing death though.

dear Depressed 1

I very much like the mind set of your poem. I see that you count death as a natural occurrence and not something to be feared. I love it!

Thanks

Thanks Cat. I feel everyone is born with a death sentence.

There is...

no use to fearing death, yet most of us do it. I think that most human-beings fear anything that we cannot control, and death seems to be one thing that we cannot control, no matter how much thought we put into it. Add the fact that it can seemingly come from many places and take many forms, it is something that we either push to the back of our minds or obsess over.
I like the brevity of this write, it pauses, but does not dwell on the event, preferring to adopt the C`est La Vie attitude. ~ Geezer.

Hello D

I thought we are as all but postponed funerals, so no use of escaping death. All that we can do is get well prepared for that day, shall we?
V. Well said.
Though dark yet it speaks to the humanity.
