ZAMARRA

Eyes, you are sometimes so unfair.
The sun gives light evenly, he does
not chose one or the other to shine
his light more brightly on.

But you, when you see Zamarra walk
into the hall, a kaleidoscope of color
burst in the air; and colors, which were
a moment before dull and everyday,
become brighter and more vibrant.

Even the heart begins slightly to run
as if the enhanced colors invigorates,
and warms the blood as well, bringing
a new contentment to body and mind.

And even all mighty gravity, the one
ubiquitous force of nature, seems to
lose its total grip on me, as I move
lightly toward her arms.
