Night Patrol

Daydreams seen through fractured panes
half glimpsed half thought nightshift refrain.
Footsteps soft on walkway high
dawns brush lightens eastern sky.
Turn collar shrug against the cold
this solitary night patrol.

Eyes cast phantoms from their sight
at edges gathered through the night.
This locus drawn and so defined
permits nil tolerance of such kind.
Co-ordinates mapped, conditions known
let fear and doubt be overthrown.
Turn collar shrug against the cold
maintain, maintain, this night patrol.

Insomnia?

Do you have trouble sleeping Craig... what am i not getting about this poem? I hold it true, whatever befall; I feel it, when I sorrow most; 'Tis better to have loved and lost Than never to have loved at all.

Nightshift...

This is the start of the grape harvest, we work nights at the tank farm pressing the grapes, chilling the juice, watching over the precious fluid, long nights 9pm through to 9am, fatique plays tricks.
