Dance a Life

Tail end of night I have woken in
thoughts begin of you,
my fire feeds happily
while the kettle warms.

I am waiting I am waiting
at the unfolding of the dawn,
for the sight upon your face
of a smile being born.

senses clouds are lifting
opportunity is dawn,
fresh canvas for the easel
new horizon to explore.

sunlight on the water
wavelets lapping at the shore,
free skinned sailors of forever
dance a life that they adore.

this is poetry

This is poetry, my friend. It made me read and re-read and re-read again. It takes a reader into the writer's world. I like the first stanza and how it paints a portrait of a man, I can see this man. And the line, "fresh canvas for the easel, new horizons to explore." Good stuff.
