"Salad"
Layer upon layer
Leaf upon leaf
Man I can't wait
To feel that crunch, in between my teeth
Croutons arranged over here and over there
Salad dressings drizzled in squiggley lines
Intersecting one another, between a pair
Of crisp ripe tomatoes, fresh from the vine
If only my waiter would hurry back
With some more drink
I'm now ready to order something good to eat
Just like a timely intermission
Towards the middle of a play
A salad is just right
No matter the time of day!
Leaf upon leaf
Man I can't wait
To feel that crunch, in between my teeth
Croutons arranged over here and over there
Salad dressings drizzled in squiggley lines
Intersecting one another, between a pair
Of crisp ripe tomatoes, fresh from the vine
If only my waiter would hurry back
With some more drink
I'm now ready to order something good to eat
Just like a timely intermission
Towards the middle of a play
A salad is just right
No matter the time of day!
