Haiku Japanese Poetry Workshop

Haiku 1
Nightfall slow descend
Tree branch twinkles in the light
Gibbous moon high

Haiku 2
Its dark dead and damp
Where two frogs silently sits
Floating on a pond

Haiku 3
Riding a warm breeze
Coming from the fresh cut grass
A deep breath taken

Haiku 4
From the mountains deep
Clouds spring forth from green foliage
As the white mists rise

HAIKU (Japanese poetry shop)

Seems I heard or read that Haiku are usually untitled........

#1
As sweat drips from brow
even beneath a shade tree
comes dreams of winter

#2
The new mown hay field
wild flowers and grass like thatch
where now butterfly?

#3
Let the storm winds howl
let them toss the fields and trees
tempests seldom last

Hello (Haiku)

Haiku

Ladies day I walk
Midday sun no shadow thrown
A summertime home

Haiku

There is a deep hole
Where the water is well down
Drop bucket to fill

Haiku

The leaf twisted off
Fell to the hard frozen ground
The shadows grew long

Haiku

Water fell in space
Rainbow above holding all
beauty of a mist

Senyru

Many bad pains felt
A bonding that makes you cry
Tiny hands reach out

Haikookas (for Japanese Poetry workshop)

lone kookaburra
laughs without hesitation
his own audience

spring

tears streaming cheekwards
don't signify winters loss
just wind and pollen

summer

sticky sleepless nights
rise to blearily embrace
stark overhead sun

mosquito frantic
squealing when caught in my beard
I slap my face hard

autumnal cherries

sweet juices spurt sourly
down my throat welcomingly
seeds spat gratefully

vee stem and two pips
on rumpled sheet abandoned
the feeling lingers
