Verse

Verse is flowing, slowly growing.
Like the starlight, gently glowing.
Noble, as my God, all-knowing.
Tall as grass in need of mowing.
Deep as winter season’s snowing.
On my sleeve, like first love, showing.
Verse is coloured rainbow sowing
mysteries beyond all knowing.

I Know

She rises and encourages our two dogs
to go out, then turns and tells me
she almost called out for Tuffy to join them.
We lost our very good boy just recently.

I said “I know.” We both turned and understood
in an unspoken way we would still be seeing him
for some time to come, as we led all three out
to do their business in their favorite spots before bed.

Time to give up?

Haunting the streets
as I add up my worth,
I've always been replaceable,
even from birth.

Misses all the chances,
crying in a paper cup,
Withdrew from their advances,
time to give up?

Sick in my solitude,
I let days & weeks creep by.
No senseless gratitude,
"we only live if we try"

My mind, constant chaos,
quietened by Demon drink.
Drowning pedantic thoughts,
that I just don't want to think.

Vow of Brotherhood

Tell me all that
Pollutes your
Mind tonight

You are no burden
Just a passenger on
A train that never
Reaches home

Misery might
Be a visitor
I will always be
Your roommate in
Any hell you live in

Turn off reality
By telling me the
Story no one
Is going to read

Spit out the taste
Of worthlessness
Digest the comfort
Of a friend that
Forest fires can’t
Turn to ashes

Sneezing fit – tests nasal septum

The word Gesundheit was first used in English in 1914. It became popular in the United States due to the many German immigrants who moved there. Many Americans may not be aware that Gesundheit is a German word, or even what it means.

Contrary ro popular belief, I experience sneezing fits
every now and again (like right nah... nah... mah now,
but cannot attribute sternutation linkedin to any known allergens).

A Bully Of Worth!

They do not know why I do what I do,
bunch of chumps calling me misguided.
I laugh at them feeling sorry for me
their perspective is all lop-sided.

I pull the wings off the bugs I catch,
drop them in my big sister's soup,
she deserves it, by my standards, to be sure
what a silly girl, she is the perfect dupe.

I put a garden snake under her pillow
just so I can listen to her screams
maybe she will fall asleep soon as
it permeates her nasty little dreams.

Ask Me To Dance

Ask me to dance.
Reach for my hand and lead me
across the floor.
Pause, then pull me close.
Closer.

Hold me like a hungry kiss
as the rhythm of my breath slows down
settling some place between your body and mine,
warm and captive, yet somehow
unshackled.

Rest your hand
on the small of my back
where your touch excites my skin
and my inhibitions become
unlaced.

Ask me to dance.

Longing to Belong...

He had grown to be a man,
since his capture as a child.
He'd survived two wars by now,
he was seasoned... but half wild.

Was there anyone still left,
who would remember him?
Was there still a village there,
was there even one last kin?

He had been to life's great school,
he had learned his lessons well.
Lived in paradise, been poor,
been to heaven, gone through hell.

Simple human

Just a small simple human,
A heart that beats, a soul that yearns,
Full of love but often meets hate,
A spirit that burns, but often learns.

I wanted to be something more,
To soar above the mundane shore,
To reach for stars, to touch the sky,
But the world seemed to pass me by.

Sharing inside fire with everyone,
A beacon of warmth, a light that's spun,
Yet shadows dance, and doubts arise,
Can you see it in my eyes?
