THE CRUISE (as refined by the Splash Pool Workshop)

THE CRUISE

We sailed their yacht to paradise,
At least that’s what it seemed.
White coral sand, blue sea, green palms,
The place we all had dreamed.

We’d had our plans made for a while,
To steal their yacht and run;
We meant the pair no harm - I swear,
But the old man pulled a gun.

Overpowered and beat up some,
Now both too scared to speak-
They can’t be found, both had to drown,
So their lifeboat sprung a leak.

Resurrection

Inert in stasis,
Comatose, catatonic.
Barely breathing.

Resurrection, adrenaline pumping,
Surging assaulting my senses.
jolting, into overdrive.

Hunger, a craving
Consuming my soul,
Devouring my self control.

Bodies moist gleaming
in post coital congress,
uncoil our union.

Reanimated, sun light returning,
slave to urges once dormant,
Devastating eruption of feeling.

Step into My Parlor (said the spider to the fly)

Step into My Parlor (said the spider to the fly)

There are those who will tear down
Everything that’s great
They complain about the world
And the food upon their plate

They would not be happy
If they could not complain
So they voice their misery
Make others groan with pain

Anything that may be great
They want to make it bad
Find everything that’s wrong with it
because it makes them glad

People

People

Don't want to hear how your day has been
I really don't care, it adds nothing to my day
Take your conversation somewhere else
You're just so fuckin' irritating, so fuck off

Blah, blah, blah, I ain't listening

Don't want to be told about your sad life
I really don't have the time for empathy
So please go tell some other idiot instead
Can't you see you're wasting my fuckin' time

MAY FLURRY

Not too long after day's sunrise
this morning at the end of May
came a warm pleasant surprise
nature chanced to send my way

As I sat and looked around
there came with breeze a tiny flurry
flakes of white swirled to the ground
and frosted it in quite a hurry

Beneath a large wild cherry tree
shedding tiny petals to the wind
a snapshot seen by only me
ten minutes time from start to end

Notes

I feel the movement
as souls embrace.

Notes play.

Chopin
Nocturne 17

Fingers gently grace tips;
eyes understand.

Tears and heart
glisten mid melody,
snowflakes compliment;

wishing
to believe again,

that love is made worth its risk.

Flyboy And The Mechanic

with so much bravado

"blow it out your asses
you niggling little dimwits"

that's exactly what he said

"by the seat of your pants,
the only way to fly"

I bailed

he crashed
dissing the world and its ways
one too many times

what a guy!

it was an ordinary funeral

Poster boy (Lao Tzu)

“Heaven and earth are like a set of bellows.
Although empty, they are endlessly productive.
The more you work them, the more they produce.
The mouth, on the other hand, becomes exhausted if you talk too much.
Better to keep your thoughts inside you.”
-Lao Tzu
---------------------------------------------------------------------

My mouth entombs me
or sets me free,
in an endless stream of words

Beautiful images in precise words
swirl around my head, when I speak
something else comes out instead

Ode of the Poe Toaster

It was many and many a year ago
as I knelt down on my knee
three roses and cognac were left to bestow
an honor to you from me,
and these gifts were bought with no other thought
than to be placed here just by me.

I am your fan and they are your fans
as I'd kneel down on my knee
but we knew what we knew was more than we knew--
in this honor to you from me;
a gift of love that each year would show
an honor to you from me.
