Where are the Children?

The minister practices
his sermon in, word
forgetting his deeds
are all that are heard;

The politician is running
for another term, at the task,
not sure of his intentions
no one thought keen, to ask.

"To be perfectly honest..."
to sell his wares, he must lie
the salesman in him
bids him, to try;

Father is barely providing
for the family,
if mother complains
there's no harmony.

The Atlantic

There were rumors you stood tall
In the cool summer breeze
There were truths in glasses
Confused murmurs gathered in masses
Till brown changed the leaves
And here in this room
I can hear
The tapping of souls
Dancing across heavens doors, and into the womb

Soraya M.

Can I pray
without uttering a word,
even to God?
Can my hands shake
can I
cover my head with enough ashes?
Could I clothe myself in burlap?
When I close my eyes to sleep,
if Jesus is my Savior,
and not the Savior of the world
what kind of man am I?

Erotica

I trace your jaw line with my tongue.
Tasting salty flesh.
I surround your Adams Apple with my lips.

I kiss my way down your chest
With gentle suction.
Then nibbles causing, sensuous reverberation

Phallic surrender, as you pay attention
and I travel lower.
Caressing with my hand.

The target is found and zero in,
I go in for the kill
and you surrender.

Moist lips lock
erotic after shock.
We lose control.

Sail

Boat engines are useless to me,
the smell of diesel and gasoline
mar the clean aroma of the sea,
and cloud the gleam of sunlit waves
with oily shine of industry.

To skim the water with fastest speed
defeats the purpose of the voyage,
for only sail fills the need
of quiet heart and satisfaction
roaring motors cannot feed.

And in the grasp of deepening swells,
beyond the known of sheltered shore,
there is no engine noise that quells
the doubts and fears and worries that
the rush of wind in sail dispels.

Oh! Loved and Beauty

Oh! Loved and Beauty

When such lovely faces
Are around,
Beauty is bound to surround
Let the word go around
That beauty has come around
To the poets den,
To lend an ear
Let all about her beauty hear
And
As they smell
The fragrance of love
Let nothing come between
Beauty and the loved

The Misty Dawn

Through the trees gentle Nyx overleaps
Haunting white huddles in sleepy dells
Enfolding softly the silver bells
Moving soundless as the dew creeps

Infused mist glows silver in Selene
Silent sentinels stand in ghost seas
Tendrills of fog curl delicately
Yearning to wake from this shrouded dream

Deftly now Nyx surrenders the night
Aurora glides in her chariot drawn
Waking the dell with the hymns of morn
Nebulous colours herald the light

Dimming Light

Jeopardizing frailty
take hold of not me,
but disperse upon settling thoughts,
those fields where arouse not yet met.

Compensate forth
a dear like friend,

atone fruitfully
the strength withdrawn from my grasp
when the mere sight of light
lifted my kind,

that period of grace
doomed to swell in an unkind manner,
that period of grace
contemplating falsifier takes.

For seasoned waits
have time again exposed pearled care,
wringing forth a shade of despair;

A Granite Stone

I carved my heart out
On a granite stone
And etched your initials
Though how hard it is
To feel
The chisel's sharpness.

I can no longer
Maintain its composure.

The sculpture cannot
Contain you.

You have been
Quite demanding.
