Invincibles
To the spirit of FIFA 2010.
“When I get older, I will be stronger
They'll call me freedom, just like a wavin’ flag …”
— K’Naan
Standing on the battle ground,
Ready to feel the thirst,
Ready to taste the sweat,
Heads held high, chests thrown out,
Each sinew strained and hardened.
Trumpet for the battle?
Enough are their heart beats.
Each breath of anticipation:
Read the rest of the poem Show less
Is the song of approaching victory.
Touch of immortals framed them.
Unfathomable their courage,
Symmetries of fearlessness,
Veins pulse in their heads,
Just to feel the war-cry.
Eyes of immortals upon them…
Victory is praised and glorified,
Even un-victorious will be legends.
No loss can defeat them,
They are invincibles,
With the passing age and time.
They are invincibles,
Victory or loss never matters.
Histories will be written about:
How they played the game?
The spirit that burns in them…
