The Ghost of Gaza

This isn't like anything you have seen.
Ain't bewitching nights of the Halloween
The characters here are solid, real ones.
No pumpkins or witches, but bombs and guns.
No shiny moons now rise or suns.

The dreary air blew hard into my home.
Leaving a weary ghost to freely roam
Gathering shattered limbs and bones
Of ripped-up bodies, shredded by drones
All buried under rubble and stones.

Kerouac Meditations

Kansas memories;
yellow brick roads existed
rising stars on rainbow raceways
nuclear jonquil blasts occurred
dots were loaded with micrograms
butterflies kissed the solar wind
paisley was not yet in.

Fireside Confessions

Reclined on the Carpet, they lay
in each others arms, no hurry to move
undecided which was hotter,
body or mind, with nothing to reprove.

Hungry lips finding soft places
with shivering whispers discovering
secrets of the flesh so supple,
soft tender fingers seeking, hovering...

Honeyed secrets of love and lust
sharing the sweetest of forbidden talk
seeing the other in their eyes,
smiling, he lifted the hem of her frock.

No Burden

She asks me if these are the pants she should wear.
Or, would another glass of wine be a bad idea.

Should we go out, or stay in
and watch the movie we discussed earlier in the day.

I am not burdened by any of these queries.
These simple questions are where the love lies now.

DRIFTING CLOUDS

The sun rises a little earlier each day
And each day is brighter than the last
On evenings I walk out to see the sunset
And I walk back with a rested soul

I've tried to be more sincere with myself
To hold my own hand
As I walk through the darkness
To sing to myself once in a while
So that I can hear a voice
Of someone who loves me

It hasn't been an easy ride
But the clouds are coming back from the south now
And with each wave I get a feeling
That it's all going to be alright

Juno Beach (updated)

The First Canadian Army
taking out Juno Beach was tasked,
solemn in their duty were they
then ready, when each man was asked.

On June sixth 1944
German forces occupied France.
With the transport mine sweeping,
Navy bombardment took a chance...

Canadian infantry squad
seized the airport taking control,
to me, each man was a hero,
those who fell. as war took a toll.

Sword Beach

Shortly after midnight they met,
British third devision, and French
Commandos attacked the beachhead
6th airborne crew came off the bench.

Inland Bridges were seized that day
artillery pieces taken,
that had stricken landing forces
now, their majority shaken

Sword, held five miles of French coastline
covered with obstacle placement.
British were resolved to retake,
remove the German debasement

Halloween fun

Witches, pumpkins, and ghosts galore,
Even a phoney Dumbledore.
Vampires, Werewolves, and Pennywise,
Creepy realistic Halloween disguise .

Trawling the streets, shouting trick or treat,
Collecting a veritable stash of sweets.
Sharing the haul at the end of the night,
Once you have given your neighbours a fright.

Then Infront of the TV, to watch a scare fest,
Oh Freddy Kruger, you always scared best.
With your looks so disturbing, and ever so odd,
So glad I never watched it, all on my tod.
