JUST A CRUEL JOKE

JUST A CRUEL JOKE

So finally, I had decided to risk it
As nothing would change my mind
But a prize I won was just a biscuit

If a trick was played, it was unkind
I was unsure if I’d bother to collect
In the end I went, feeling resigned

I bought many tickets, in retrospect
Between bet and return, a disparity
And raffle rules apply, I do suspect

So there was I, searching for clarity
Stifling a laugh, a voice then spoke
Reminding me it was all for charity

Distant reverie

Admiring the purest soul
From afar
Feels like basking the sunlight
As happiness envelopes me
Like it won't ever let go,
It's so overwhelming
That tears start flowing
From my auburn eyes
Glistening over my radiant cheeks
But than delight turnes to melanocholy
Remembering that I'll forever be in awe,
Endlessly captivated by the beauty
Of that pure soul

Sin Hall Jive

A note wraps around the drums

Feed back is fed back,

Thrown back out amplified,

While cymbals swing like dove wings

Horns aim in every direction

Push the dancing to prancing

Eyes cross lost

Hold the whole note

Faces distort

Body of a viola becomes a body

Red, yellow and brown

Against a darkened backstage

Frayed bow rises again and again

With the screaming sin

Yellow, red and orange boots

Bending footpaths through wailing words

Tangerine and sushi spilled everywhere

Elegy!

The time will come
when truths are told
of righteous men
with gallant dreams!

An entourage
of hopeful followers,
that will not bend
with Winter winds.

Their bodies strewn
across time’s tapestry.
They’ve passed the test
of grace and purity!

The Nations weep
the blood of Martyrs calls,
for vengeance owed
to them which sleep.

Their markers lie
upon the stony ground.
Reminding all of what
was said and done!

Utah Beach Landing

On June 6th 1944
Normandy, World War two, D-Day,
Omaha, Gold, Juno and Sword.
pump-up the adrenaline, pray!

Allies were Brits, Canadians,
French, Poles and U.S.A. forces
all of which were sturdy brave men
which time, supports and endorses.

Utah, the westernmost beach head
with the other beach invasions
the allies fought on for success
retake France in the equation.

amphibious attack won through,
Operation Neptune, dubbed.
enemy fire caused them to swim
for the beach there in was the rub.

I ran

My feet burned, almost black.
Bare footed I ran on that track.
No shoe could be found worthy enough that day.
On your mark, get set, go and like a wind I bolted away.
I did as I was told to stay in my lane and look ahead.
Although in the wilderness I was born and bred
This body of mine was etched in strength.
And now wreaked heavily of a heros scent.
But I ran that day, I ran.
It wasn't even for me but for my clan.
I was afraid to think of bronze or silver and God forbid I thought of that gold.

Poetic Justice

This night, I lay in my cold bed

Thinking about the life I have led

Put the cold steel against my head

Will end it all with a small piece of lead

There is no one but me to blame

Going to put out my flickering flame

My afterlife will not be the same

I will get rid of my forever pain

Will leave everything behind in a note

My heavy burdens I could no longer tote

As above me lingers a puff of floating smoke

Across the Styk, I will peacefully float

My Fireside Confession...

Sex, sax, and smooth whiskey,
secrets beside the fire.
Warm and sultry brown eyes
looking at me, desire.

The pounding of my blood,
pitched ringing of my ears
Cannot turn me away
playing on all my fears.

Warming a frosted heart,
confessing "I love you,"
There's nothing left to say,
Hope that you love me too.

Cruel Joke

Some older guy bought these kids some beer (Bud).
In the woods while drinking came a thud,
soon showed up the ‘Hoods’ wanting that ‘Bud’.
They came up to them Laughing and joking wanting the goods!

Through half-closed ears (from that beer)
They could barely hear (with snickers and sneers)
“I have a razor, wanna shave their balls?”
“No No No” (that was the end of the party for them all)
