Paradox!

Father can you tell me
what is this I see
I just can't figure out
what I've come to be
What it is that brought me here
to this place in time
And what is it that makes me think
I've captured the divine?
My motives are impeccable,
but it remains unclear to me
Who ascends to heaven
and I just can't wait to see
The ending of the story
of God's own family
I've waited my whole life
and cannot seem to find
A simple clear solution

The Night Sun

We are on the verge of pain
Since we had followed our greed
To the corner of their mouths
Where lies live
With the coloured papers our fathers were sold
To the anthill of the savanna.

Under the sun, we spread their names on the walls
To convince our brothers and sisters
With the sweet words of their mouths.

Under the rain, we danced to their music
When the trumpeters called out our mothers
To the villages’ square
To sweep the market places with their voices and feet.

Where Lonely People Walk

There are stifled heartbeats
just below the ground
where lonely people walk -

forsaken greetings,
conversations barely pulsating,
trying to push through rocks, loam, and roots,

itching to vine onto
the wandering soles of
those needing a bit of benevolence,

a breath of companionship,
one reason to come alive...
waiting for an opening salutation,

"Hello."

Hugs and forehead kisses

I'd peel your orange for you
Hold your hand when it comes for you
The phantom that crouches and hides
In the dark alleys of your brain

There's not much that can be said
Your tale is written across your face
One look into your eyes
And I knew your story
It's a sad tale, a heartbreaking tale
Full of anger and anguish
And a loneliness so vast
It could bridge the chasm between heaven and hell

Feelings Lost

We once embraced and knocked our knees
Now we are tied to our phones and keys

Human interaction seems to fade away
As our internet capabilities are here to stay

Plucking away on the facebook page
Sends me into an inner rage

Watching our young and how they react
Has changed our lives and that’s a fact

How can we teach them how to enjoy a touch
A warm embrace, the thrill of a crush

Interaction is what we really need
To form a society that will be freed

I am undone!

The morning came
I gazed into the sun
I gave my soul
to see the holy one
My heart was broken
He came to rescue me
I wandered aimlessly
through grief and fear
My head hung down
I cursed my worthless birth
I hoped to die,
but could not squelch
my will to live
My only wish
a green and peaceful hill
Outside the gates
of life’s insanity
If you could know
the kind of pain I feel
then maybe you
could understand?

I NEVER KNEW

I never knew... FIRE!
Until I met her body's heat,
I thought I had tasted of desire
Before she layed me low at her feet
Battling a need so deadly, so dire.

I never knew of honey drips
Leaking from little perfect lips
Nor had I, the inkling,
That lovely ravaging lightning
Could crack at the summit of fingertips.
