Poet who exhibits panache - meant...

to tickle your fancy dear reader rabbit,
perchance European G-man double agent
regarding the following poem
with kick a$$, je ne sais quois
ingenious, humorous bent
even though reasonable rhyme
mebbe worth no mo' than ten cent
doth quickly make descent
from ridiculous to sublime

and/or visa versa poetic event
trademark courtesy one
sexagenarian formerly fervent
nonestablishmentarian
long haired pencil necked
geeky, dorky, and nerdy
January born quirky,
Yankee doodling gent.

Psapfo 301

Your breast pierced
By Love’s venomous
Iniquity

Beautiful adept
Of Olympus
Bestower of mysteries

Adonis the maid-faced
Weep at the wealth
Placed upon his eyes

Men were born
To squander
Your gifts

A Colder Part of the Year

My friend must have had January in his heart.
Yellow sun days something no longer real,
unable to remember how they felt.

If I had known how deep the struggle was
I would have offered untroubled keepsakes
from the capers we shared on warm days

It may not have helped, but now I believe
I would have at least let January know
how I felt about the matter.

What I miss most about Shaya

He talked too much.
He was too loud.
He was in your face,
and that's what I loved most about him.
I knew when I married him
that I would not have a quiet life.
He was always there
on the edge.
He was fearless
and that gave me the strength
to do things,
and get out in the world.
Everyone who knew him
in my circles and networks
remembers exactly that about him.
Being like that
comes with risks
but he accepted them.
He was the fire cracker
that made me a better person.

Gunk in the junk draw

Sweet Jesus what a mess,
I really must confess.
In my haste, I shoved away,
Many things for another day.

Unsewn buttons, elastic bands,
For those jobs I had planned.
Drawing pins a scattered trap,
They want to hurt me, oh cr*p.

Batteries saved, just in case,
Roll about, all over the place.
To a pool of gunk, make no mistake,
What's leaked? for goodness sake.

Further back into junks cavern,
I found the culprit of gunks tavern.
A tube of glue without its lid,
Surely I did not get rid.

You

You are my Siren
My ears ring,with your love.Constantly.
My ears bleed,with your love.Constantly
It chokes and feeds me.
You make deep burgundy so life affirming.
Let's drown together.
We can learn to breathe in our own world.

I Don't Have To

I don’t have to say I love you,
As frequently as I do.
But a soothing warmth flows through me,
When I say those words to you.

I don’t have to take you in my arms,
When I see you walking about.
But to feel your body pressed to mine,
Is a blessing I can’t do without.

Open

Doors open.
Windows open.
Skies open up,
when the rain starts to fall,
and thunder and lightning strike.

My mind opens,
opens up to,
where I am here and now.
When it does,
I make discoveries.
I am an explorer,
of my mind.
I make no judgements.

I expand my horizons,
in the very same way the sun rises,
every day in the east.
These expansive scenes,
open me to the new day.
